Fire Door Inspection

Who inspects your fire doors?

The legislation around fire door safety is extensive. Having your doors inspected by a qualified third-party assessed and certificated professional not only gives you peace of mind, it also reassures you that you take fire safety seriously.

The safety of your staff and premises is essential, and is often unknowingly compromised. The 'Fire Door' is the first line of defence between you and a fire. A ‘Fire Door’ is a vital safety device, in restricting the spread of fire and smoke, which saves lives and protects property.

When you call upon Capital Fire Door inspection services, we will establish if your fire doors are the correct specification; have been well maintained and compliant to Fire Safety Regulations.

The condition of fire doors and their components is included as part of the fire risk assessment. Building owners who fail to comply with the regulations can be prosecuted and fined or even sent to prison. Recent prosecutions have been severe, even for seemingly trivial issues such as failing to fit seals or closers, or wedging a fire door open.

What are Fire Door Inspections?

Fire door inspections are essential to fully ensure health and safety measures. As part of the varied range of services we offer, we provide a fully comprehensive inspection, which can be done on an annual or bi-annual basis.

Fire Door Inspection simply means that we check all your fire doors on-site to ensure they are safe, compliant and effective in protecting occupants and built assets against smoke and flames in the event of a fire.

We undertake a total of 34 industry-specific fire door inspection checks on each and every fire door, we will then provide you with a full and detailed report, including images so you can actually see the potential hazards of any incorrectly installed fire doors.

Our fire door inspection report will then outline a set of recommendations, including essential works required to meet the current guidelines and safety regulations, as well as a list of non-critical but advisable works.

The Inspection includes:

6 Month Fire Door Inspection

This is a mandatory requirement of the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005.

Our inspections are carried out in accordance with the Fire Door Inspection Scheme's guidelines by a certificated Fire Door Inspector.

A list of remedial works will be provided as part of the report.

The identification of any potential issues that may impact performance.

A detailed report, offering advice and recommendations on the necessary improvements that need to be made.

A repair proposal which can include replacement doors and a regular maintenance program.

Our team of inspectors are BMTRADA and will ensure that all fire doors inspected meet all the necessary standards and regulations.
