How to Tell If Your Fire Door Is Compliant

SECTORS - Hospital-min

Even the best fire door won’t work properly without regular maintenance. Over time, hinges may loosen, seals can degrade, and gaps may increase — all of which reduce its fire-resistance effectiveness.

Basic Maintenance Checklist:

  • Inspect the door closer function.

  • Check the condition of seals and intumescent strips.

  • Ensure door alignment and tight sealing.

  • Lubricate hinges and locking mechanisms.

  • Remove obstructions that might prevent closing.

Schedule a fire door inspection at least once a year or as per local regulations.
