Care Home

Capital was brought in to inspect and repair the fire doors at a privately owned care home.

The focus was on ensuring all doors were compliant with current safety regulations and suitable for a vulnerable residential environment. Following completion of the remedial works, we now provide regular maintenance to keep the doors in safe working order.

The challenge

Care homes have specific fire safety needs due to the nature of the residents and the layout of the buildings.

Doors must not only meet technical standards but also function smoothly to allow for quick and safe evacuation if needed. The owner required a trusted partner to carry out a thorough inspection and complete the necessary repairs with minimal disruption to daily routines.

Our approach

We carried out a full inspection of every fire door on site, checking for signs of wear, gaps, faulty hardware or missing certification.

Where doors could be repaired, we completed the work using BM TRADA Q-Mark approved methods to bring them back to standard. Throughout the project, our team worked considerately around care staff and residents to ensure safety and privacy were respected at all times.

To support long-term compliance, we now return on a regular basis to inspect the fire doors and make adjustments as needed. This helps the care home maintain its safety standards and be ready for any future audits or inspections.

The outcome

The care home now has a set of compliant, well-maintained fire doors across the building.

The residents and staff benefit from improved protection, and the owner has peace of mind knowing that the doors are regularly checked and professionally maintained.
