The challenge
The development required a large-scale installation of compliant fire doors, each providing 30 minutes’ fire resistance at flat entrances.
The works needed to be delivered on schedule while coordinating access to occupied units and maintaining resident safety throughout.

Our approach
We installed 400 FD30-rated front entrance doors, each one fully certified and fitted in line with BM TRADA Q-Mark standards.
The doorsets included compliant hardware, intumescent seals and robust finishes suitable for high-traffic residential use. Our team worked methodically to minimise disruption, coordinating closely with site management and residents.
Following installation, we introduced a regular fire door maintenance plan in partnership with the building’s facilities manager. This includes scheduled inspections and remedial works to ensure long-term compliance.
The outcome
The apartment block now benefits from a complete, compliant fire door system across all flats.
With routine maintenance in place, the building’s fire safety measures remain consistent and verifiable. If you’re managing a residential development and need trusted fire door installation and maintenance, speak to Capital Fire Doors about your requirements.
